What a Typical Outdoor Project Looks Like

Example Project: Patio & Walkway with Matching Pavers

Outside Patio area with Firepit and Gray Pavers

Here’s what a typical outdoor flooring and paver project looks like with us. In this example, the homeowners wanted a cleaner outdoor living area—no more uneven slabs, weeds in the joints, or puddles after every rain. We started by designing a layout that tied the back patio, walkway, and pool surround together so it feels like one continuous space instead of a bunch of add-ons.

The most important work happens underneath. We remove soft spots, add and compact the proper base, and account for drainage so water runs away from the house, not toward it. From there, we set pavers on a consistent pattern, keep lines straight, and cut edges to fit tight against screen enclosures, planters, and steps. If we’re tying into existing concrete, we plan the transitions so there’s no trip lip or awkward height change.

By the time we’re finished, they’ve got a solid patio and walkways that don’t shift under your feet, drain correctly, and are easy to hose off or pressure wash. It turns the outdoors into a usable extension of the home—ready for furniture, grills, and weekend get-togethers instead of just being “the area you avoid.”
